Scrap (The Bristol Collection #3) by Josephine Myles

When things come to a head, there’s nowhere to go but down…
The Bristol Collection, Book 3
On the surface, Derek “Call Me Dare” Nelson’s life is simple, doing up custom campervans while living in a slightly illegal caravan in his riverfront yard. When a handsome, smooth-talking developer offers to buy the land out from under his feet, Dare realizes it’s the same man he had to escort home from a party months ago for causing a drunken scene.
Grant Matravers lives a double life, attempting to adjust to weekends as a single, divorced gay man while staying closeted at work. The strain of keeping up the part-time pretense, missing his kids, and now a problematic attraction to the shave-headed, tattooed Dare, has worn his emotional barriers dangerously thin.
Dare blasts through those barriers in a way Grant isn’t prepared for, challenging everything he thought he knew about himself as a gay man. But as their chemistry heats up and the intimacy between them grows, Grant edges toward a decision that could blow up in his face. Exposing a hornet’s nest of complications that could destroy any chance for happily ever after.
Warning: Contains a man desperately in need of redemption, another with a chip on his shoulder the size of an oak tree, frotting in camper vans, a sensual head-shaving scene and several guest appearances from Mas.

Oh how I love a writer who can make a book series feel like home, and when you are between books, you are simply waiting to visit home again and all your people there! This is what this series is to me, it is home in literary form, and these wacky, zany lovable characters feel like my people, and let me tell you, only a brilliant author can make you feel like that!

When we first met Grant I know all or at least most of us were under the opinion that he was a cheating pompous ass, which he pretty much acted like. When we dig a little deeper in this book we find a very unhappy man who just wants to be the man he was always meant to be. The way the author has Grant take back his life is wonderful, it isn't always easy, but the lessons he learns far outweigh the hardships.

Dare is just who he is, and that is good enough for him, he is a caring soul who gets flack for what he looks like, but underneath that rough exterior is a heart of gold who helps out a struggling family member the best way he knows how.

Dare is comfortable in his life, and Grant is still trying to adjust to his new one, these men couldn't be the one each other is looking for, could they?

Get ready for some giggles, some sighs, and happily some Mas! Oh how I love cheeky little Mas, and thanks to him fuckwit may be my new favorite word! Thanks Josephine, for giving us a book 3 that gave me a chance to go home, at least for a little while!
