THIS ONE IS JUST PERFECT! HERE IS MY REVIEW:

Crossed Hearts (A Hearts and Scars Novel) by: K. Vale
                                                                       reviewed by: Becky

One heart’s been broken. The other is secondhand.
Kory Vansant doesn’t deserve to be alive.
As time sucks him dry of energy, sapping the final ounces of strength from his congenitally enlarged heart, he's forced to end his career as Kory Kent, porn star. Staring down death, he questions his life choices and prays for a miracle. For another chance at life, he vows to change who he is at his core.
His prayers are answered. A perfect heart now beats in his chest, but it comes at a heavy price. The donor is an innocent young man cut down far too prematurely.
Kory's blemished history and his donor's spotless past are far from ideal matches.
As his debts skyrocket, Kory can’t help but think his resolve to walk the high road is being tested. After he meets the adorable Will Squire at the gravesite they both visit, he’s doubly damned because there’s no way he can keep up his end of the bargain. What happens when a man breaks a deal with a higher power?
Will often prefers the company of the dead to that of the living. Following a bad breakup, he pours himself into his two jobs—funeral director at his uncle’s mortuary and part-time paramedic. He’s drawn ever closer to Kory, as if fate sticks her fickle hand in and pushes them together like two unlikely puzzle pieces. But sometimes history can’t be buried, and maybe divine intervention isn’t always right. Will discovers everyone is imperfect, no matter how pretty the outer package, and opening one’s heart is never easy, but can be oh, so worth the pain.

I was excited about this book from the time I read the blurb, and believe me, it didn't disappoint in the least! You can't help but connect with these two men, both broken, but for different reasons, and want them to have a happy ever after!

Kory received a heart transplant, and it was a miracle, but as a former porn star, he struggles with why he got blessed with a new heart when so many others needed it too. You connect with Kory and his struggle with trying to understand why this happened.

Will struggles with self worth after a terrible breakup (oh you will love his ex...NOT! ;P), and stays more on the quite side of things, dealing with the deceased at both of his jobs, it is easier that way, no complications, then he meets Kory.

They meet at a grave that is significant to them for different reasons, but the attraction is mutual for sure! Can these two men put aside their misgivings and just let themselves fall and be there to catch each other? When it looks like that might happen, the past catches up to both of them, how will they handle it, run away or stay and fight for what's important?

Oh yes friends, this is a must have, and at a great price too, so don't miss it! Thanks K., for giving us a lovely book with a heart of gold!

                                                        the 5 rainbow umbrella rating

SUCH AN AWESOME PRICE FOR THIS BOOK!! HERE IS AN EXCERPT FOR YA:

The man scratched the scrub on his chin. “Heart recipient,” he said finally. “I’m Kory—umm…Kory Vansant.” Holding out his hand, he took another step. Will’s fingers were swallowed in warm skin and bone.
Will Squire.” Again, he couldn’t tear his gaze from the tease of scar tissue jutting from the crotch of Kory’s shirt collar. The urge to reach out and trace a finger over the pink relief of healed tissue was strong. Just like I touched Brandon’s incision. The stark difference between the two—one wound marking the end of a life and the other a salvation—was surreal. Will was nothing but an outsider looking in on a miracle, but somehow he felt he’d come around full circle.
Want me to get naked so you can see the whole thing?”
Will closed his eyes for a moment and then looked up, his face flaming with a mix of embarrassment and immediate, fierce arousal. “I’m sorry. Totally rude.”
Kory smiled good-naturedly. “No worries. It’s a way to reclaim who I am, or was. Or some crap. I’m not just my medical status, like they keep saying at my support group.”
No. Of course you’re not.”
He laughed loud and deep, and the warmth in Will’s face drifted down his body. “I’ve adopted it as my little icebreaker whenever people stare,” Kory said.
Well, ice broken.” Will gulped. Hell, ice melted into a rolling boil.

HAHA LOVE KORY! YOU WILL TOO! NOW LET'S LEARN A LITTLE MORE ABOUT HIM: HERE IS AN INTERVIEW WITH KORY, YOU WILL LOVE HIS ANSWERS!

Interview with Kory Vansant of Crossed Hearts

What time period do you wish you had been born in?
I think I’d have to go with this one. I mean, the first heart transplant was in the late sixties. If I was born even one generation earlier, odds are I wouldn’t have survived with my old defective heart. Maybe the future would be cool, huh? I could have a cyborg heart. As long as it was the same time period as Will. That’s the important thing.
What was your least favorite subject in school?
Has to be math. I’m not a math mind. Science wasn’t much better, especially the chemistry stuff, but at least it was interesting most of the time. History, English—they could keep me engaged. Math was just…math. Blah.
What was the worst injury you've ever received? How did it happen?
That would be the bike accident in high-school. My buddy’s dad had a repair shop, and one night he and I snuck in and took two motorcycles out for a joy ride. Bad move. I wrecked that bike and broke my arm along with a couple of ribs. Lucky I didn’t kill myself. I spent my entire summer hauling pallets in a factory to pay back the money for that little stunt.
Who was the first person you had sex with? When did it happen? What was it like? How well did it go?
First time? That would be Jason Killian when I was a freshman, well, almost a sophomore in high school. My parents were divorced, but they both agreed that I needed to go to this real man’s man summer camp for two weeks every July. Jason’s parents felt the same way about him—it was really the perfect place to meet another queer and to be virtually unchaperoned after lights out. It went okay as that goes. Doesn’t matter that your first blowjob was probably your worst—you never forget it.
What kind of weather is your favorite?
I grew up in Seattle, but spent most of my adult life in the Los Angeles area. Never cared much for rain as a kid, and then I was living the beach bum life for a while. Now that I live in Jersey, I’ve developed a love affair with rain, due entirely to my fiancĂ©, Will. Nothing I love more than enjoying a thunderstorm with my man.
