THIS IS PERFECT FOR THIS STORY, HERE IS MY REVIEW:

                              Silver Scars by: Posy Roberts
                                                              reviewed by becky

A bomb destroyed high-powered lawyer Gil Lemieux’s seemingly perfect life, and PTSD has ruled every decision since the explosion that left him scarred inside and outside. Moving home with his mom is meant to be a temporary measure, just like proofreading for a medical institution is only meant to be a stopgap. But two years after taking on the wrong court case, he’s still living in fear.
Keith Kramer might be based 1,500 miles away from Gil, but their shared work brings them together—a chance meeting that’s life-changing. Gil is drawn to Keith’s good looks and intelligence, but it’s his innate understanding that Gil is more than the scars on his skin that is truly attractive. He’s everything Gil used to be and more. It blows Gil’s mind that his attraction might be returned.

Only doubt could widen the distance between them. Keith’s hopefulness, borne out of surviving some tough challenges of his own, isn’t enough to bridge the distance alone. Gil will need to believe he has as much to offer as Keith if they’re to build a life together.

I really can't say enough about this book, the writing is brilliant, as is the plot, and the characters just jump off the page and straight into your heart! I love it when a book is good enough to affect me like that!
Gil is scarred inside and out from a bomb, he changes his whole way of life and lives life just existing, not really living. He goes out of town for his job as a copy editor never dreaming he would meet anyone, yet alone the man who could become his everything.
Keith is no stranger to pain, and he is attracted to Gil right off, but how to make Gil see he doesn't see his scars, just the beautiful man beneath them. Gil lives a ways away, can these two keep in contact and see where their mutual attraction goes?
You guys will love this story, it is about love and the power to believe you are whole and that the way you are seen through your loved ones eyes is the way you should view yourself.
These two men go through so much in this book, will it make them grow closer or pull them apart? Thank you Posy, for a beautiful book about beautiful men, inside and out.

Posy Roberts writes about romantic male love. Whether these characters are family men, drag queens, or lonely men searching for connections, they all find a home in her stories.
Posy is married to a man who makes sure she doesn’t forget to eat or sleep; her daughter, a budding author and dedicated Whovian, helps her come up with character names. When Posy’s not writing, she enjoys crafting, hiking, and singing spontaneously about the mundane, just to make normal seem more interesting.

HERE IS A BLOG POST POSY DID FOR ME: MAN ARE YOU GONNA ENJOY IT:

Thanks for hosting me today. I’m excited to be here to talk about my new book, Silver Scars.

Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. Anxiety. Panic attacks. Chronic Pain.

Those are just some of the medical concerns I had to research when writing Silver Scars. I ended up researching operations, physical therapy, occupational therapy, rehab, as well as mental health therapies. I researched a lot, and Bike Book Reviews wanted to know what inspired me to go there.

A lot. I have these two characters, Gil and Keith, who are both such strong men. They have immense fortitude, but it was hard fought. They would be very different men if they had never suffered, and they would probably be characters not worth writing about then.

Adversity changes people. It makes them grow in ways that can be unpredictable. Sometimes people grow beyond what they ever imagined. That's what I wanted to explore with both these men.

Prior to their separate tragedies—an explosion and gunfire—they were men who pretty much had life handed to them. Perhaps not on a silver platter because there were struggles, like Gil growing up without a father and Keith's parents divorcing when he was a teen. But they both went on to be successful adults: Gil, a partner in a law firm and Keith, a medical editor. They had sexual relationships with men and lived fairly carefree lives, until everything changed forever.

And they were changed in a blink of an eye.

That's often how lives change, isn't it? Car accidents, a cancer diagnosis, losing a job. Things of that nature are the impetus.

Gil and Keith meet after their life changers. It's been six years for Keith and eighteen months for Gil, but both of them are still dealing with the reality of those changes. And both of them are very much alone. They've pushed lovers and friends away. The only people still sticking around for them are their mothers and a few good friends who are able to see past their defensive barriers to understand how vulnerable they are beneath their armor.

I wanted to write a story about seemingly vulnerable men who were positive they'd be alone for the long haul, and I wanted them to find each other, fall in love, and help each other be even stronger than they imagined.

That's what's funny to me at the end of this book. Gil and Keith had so much strength in them from the start, but neither of them were able to recognize it in themselves. Yet, they could see immense strength in each other. It was blindingly obvious.

And that brings me back to all those diagnoses up above. People read those words and images flash in their minds of the weaknesses related to them.

But I wanted Silver Scars to be about strength, about men fighting against all the odds to find a way to thrive despite their unchangeable circumstances, not only as individuals but as a couple.

THANK YOU POSY, I LOVE THIS POST, AND THE FACT THAT YOU DID YOUR RESEARCH REALLY SHOWS IN THIS BOOK :) HERE IS ANOTHER LITTLE TEASER PIC FOR YOU GUYS:
